PACT Welcomes New Trustee - Clive Lawrence OBE

Prince Albert Community Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Clive Lawrence OBE, award winning Chief Education Officer at Esteem MAT. Clive currently leads the development of educational opportunities at an inclusive multi-academy trust in the East and West Midlands, a MAT consisting of a group of pupil referral units (PRUs), alternative provision's (APs), special schools, and primary schools. Esteem’s vision is to be a ‘learning community of excellence for SEND and alternative provision’, Clive shares this ambition - to support children who are Looked After (LAC). He acknowledges his motivation is related to his own experiences with taking care of his family and he has been the guardian to his niece, with legal parental responsibility, since her birth.

His wealth of experience in various educational roles, from teaching to leading, as well as through his qualifications specialising in SEND and leadership, makes him an invaluable addition to our Trustee board and PACT community. Clive led St Giles special needs primary school into an internally recognised ‘world-class’ institution. It achieved ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted in 2016, SEN School of the Year at Pearson’s Shine a light Awards in 2019, and subsequently achieved ‘world-class school’ status.

On being appointed as a Trustee at PACT Clive said, “I have always watched from afar the great work that PACT do for its community of schools' and the areas that it serves. I am excited to work with; and support them, on their next stages of trust development and growth. I'm passionate about everything that PACT stands for and therefore it's a genuine honour to join their board of trustees."

Phillipa Sherlock-Lewis, CEO of PACT said, “I was overjoyed when Clive applied to be a trustee, his knowledge of education specifically SEND will bring a real strength to the board, I eagerly await his challenge that will enable us to deliver the best possible outcomes for all pupils.”
