We're proud to announce the launch of The Big Splash, an extended learning initiative aimed at increasing access to swimming for young people, made possible through support from the Children’s Alliance.
Building on its existing curriculum swimming provision, the programme will offer nearly 200 pupils the opportunity to take part in six weeks of additional after-school sessions. The initiative is designed to enhance participation and ensure more children can benefit from structured aquatic learning.
As part of the scheme, pupils will receive extra coaching alongside essential equipment such as swimwear and goggles, as well as healthy snacks. Organisers say these provisions are key to ensuring equitable access and removing common barriers that may prevent children from taking part.
The project focuses on improving water safety, building confidence, and promoting physical literacy, while encouraging long-term engagement in swimming. By addressing accessibility challenges, PACT aims to create a more inclusive environment for all participants.
